Michael Welch and Touched By Twilight are teaming up to fight breast cancer by promoting a wonderful website that will donate one free mammogram each day in April to an underprivileged woman. Full details can be read here, but it’s really as simple as point and click. All you need to do is click on the image to your left. You’ll then be redirected to The Breast Cancer Site. Once there, you will see a button that says “Click Here to Give.” That’s it. That is literally all you need to do. I strongly urge you to do so.

I want to share a little bit with you now. My grandmother was a survivor of breast cancer. She was lucky enough to be diagnosed early due to having regular mammograms and ended up living a fairly healthy life right up to her death in August at the age of 93. Unfortunately, in September we also lost a very dear friend to this disease. This friend was fairly young and strong and proves that no one is immune. Every year, over 150,000 women in the United States are diagnosed. It is also one of the ten leading causes of death among women in the US. Mammograms are the easiest way to detect breast cancer as they can show signs before any visible lump has even formed.

Regrettably, there are many women who simply cannot afford to have this procedure. I know these are tough economic times for everyone. I know I’m feeling it; I’m sure you are, too. The thing here is, you’re not even being asked for money. All you are being asked for is a few seconds of your time to click here, click there, and help an underprivileged woman get a mammogram. Think about it. In less than 30 seconds, you could give someone’s mother or daughter or best friend the gift of life. You have the power of the gods right on your mouse pad. So use it.
